The Craft & Process
Created by Hand. Made to Remember.
At Wild Heart Remembrance, every piece is created through a combination of traditional jewellery-making and glassworking techniques.
From casting an intimate fingerprint impression to carefully forming memorial glass through heat, each piece is made by hand and carries its own subtle variations.
These are not mass-produced pieces. They are individually crafted memorial heirlooms, created with patience, intention and care.
Traditional Lost-Wax Casting
The art of lost-wax casting has been used for thousands of years, with examples found throughout ancient civilisations including Ancient Egypt and Ancient Rome.
At Wild Heart Remembrance, we use this traditional casting method to create our silver jewellery, including our fingerprint pieces.
A carefully prepared wax form is used to create the shape of the jewellery. During casting, the wax is removed and molten silver takes its place, capturing the form and detail of the original.
Once cast, each piece is individually cleaned, refined and finished by hand.
For our fingerprint jewellery, this process allows us to preserve the unique lines of an individual’s fingerprint within the silver — creating a piece that is completely personal and impossible to replicate exactly.
The organic textures incorporated into some of our designs are also inspired by the natural irregularities found in ancient jewellery, giving the finished pieces a beautifully tactile, timeworn character.
An ancient technique, reimagined as a modern memorial heirloom.
Kiln-Formed Memorial Glass
Our faceted memorial gemstones are created through kiln-forming, where carefully selected glass is shaped and transformed through controlled heat.
Memorial inclusions are carefully incorporated into the glass before it undergoes its controlled kiln process. The glass is then worked and finished to reveal its depth, character and beauty.
Each gemstone is individually created, meaning subtle variations in colour, movement and internal detail become part of what makes every piece unique.
These are not manufactured gemstones. Each one is a handcrafted piece of memorial glass, created to hold a deeply personal connection.
Lampworked Memorial Glass
Our lampworked pieces are created differently from our faceted memorial gemstones.
Working directly in the flame, glass is carefully heated, shaped and formed by hand to create our free-form memorial pendants and bezel-set pieces.
The flame allows the glass to be formed organically, creating flowing shapes and individual characteristics within each piece.
Because every piece is shaped individually, no two are ever exactly alike.
The Final Piece
Whether created through casting, kiln-forming or lampworking, every Wild Heart Remembrance piece is individually finished by hand.
There is no production line and no two pieces are exactly alike.
A fingerprint.
A piece of glass.
A precious inclusion.
A memory transformed into something you can hold.
Created with care. Made in Australia. Designed to be held forever.
